The Barton College Library encourages use of its materials within the library by the local community. However, if members of the community wish to check out books or use other library services, they must join the Friends of Hackney Library organization. All services to the local community, including access, may be denied if the librarian on duty determines that there is any interference with the library's primary clientele.
