NCLIVE
Provides citations and abstracts for over 750 educational journals and for thousands of education-related documents. While not all titles in ERIC are full-text, links to full-text articles in other EBSCO databases or directly from ERIC are provided where available. Hackney Library has access to ERIC through EBSCOHost, a commercial vendor. ERIC is also available for free from several sources over the internet, however the coverage and format vary in these free services. Provides online access to the full text of 485 journals in Business, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science, Technology and Medicine.

JSTOR (Arts & Sciences I, II, III, & IV Collections) JSTOR
These collections of full-text journals (from the first issue through an average of 3-5 years prior to the current issue--recent issues are not available) cover the following disciplines: art, archaeology, architecture, Asian studies, business, classics, economics, education, film studies, folklore, history, law, music, performing arts, political science, psychology, public policy and administration, sociology, and religion. There are over 174 journal titles in collection I, over 125 journal titles in collection II, over 150 journal titles in collection III, and over 110 journal titles in collection IV. From a common search screen, all collections may be searched simultaneously, from the full text of the articles to the title, author, abstract, caption, and publication dates, etc. (Note: Barton log-in is required to access this resource from off campus.)

Provides more than 400 scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines. Also featured are abstracts and indexing for over 500 journals. This product includes Stedman's Medical Dictionary.

Health Source: Consumer Edition (Indexing: 1988- Full-text: 1990-) EBSCOHost

This database provides consumer oriented information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine, and general health. It includes searchable full text for over 150 consumer health journals, abstracts and indexing for nearly 175 general health, nutrition and professional health care publications, and thousands of essays covering eight major health related subjects, including adult health, behavioral health, cardiology, drug and medication information, pediatric health, senior health, women's health, and sports medicine.

In addition, Health Source also provides integrated links to the former standalone database, Clinical Reference Systems (CRS), which provides over 7,000 reports, in everyday language, describing symptoms, treatments, risks and after-effects of a vast array of medical topics and conditions. After doing a search in Health Source, click on the "CRS" link to access information from the CRS database only. This database can now only be accessed via NCLIVE through Health Source: Consumer Edition.

CINAHL with Full Text (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature

CINAHL with Full Text provides indexing for 2,717 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health. The database contains more than 1,000,000 records dating back to 1982. The database also provides full text for 320 journals, plus legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments and clinical trials. This is the premier index in nursing and a good source to search for nursing research articles, as well as for those helpful to athletic trainers.

Provides online access to the full text of 485 journals in Business, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science, Technology and Medicine.

Entrez: The Life Sciences Search Engine

Free Over Internet
This wonderful search engine searches a full text journal collection called PubMed Central and an online E-books collection. In addition, it also searches PubMed and other life sciences resources. Whereas Medline via PubMed does not contain many full-text articles, PubMed Central does. A great place to start looking for medical and life-science articles and e-books.

MEDLINE (Via PubMed) (1965-)

Free over Internet
MEDLINE is one of the largest indexes to medical information and is used heavily by doctors and other health professionals. It indexes 3,500+ journals published internationally. The articles indexed tend to be very technical and are not in full text. Some of the journals covered are available in the library or in full text through other databases.
